Wojciech Szczesny could be back in the Arsenal side when Fulham visit on Saturday.
The goalkeeper has been out since mid-September with an ankle injury but will feature for the U21 side against West Ham on Friday.
If he comes through that test Szczesny will challenge Vito Mannone for a starting place against Martin Jol's side.
Arsene Wenger said: "Wojciech is No 1. When he is fully fit, I will make the decision who to play."
Wenger is hopeful Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be available for the weekend, though both will need to come through fitness checks.
