Wigan vs Bournemouth FA Cup Preview

January 05, 2013

Bournemouth will be looking to maintain their good form and cause an FA Cup upset when they visit Wigan on Saturday.

David James is likely to continue in goal for the Cherries although Shwan Jalal played in the victories over Dagenham and Carlisle in earlier rounds and could be rewarded.

Striker Lee Barnard has returned to parent club Southampton but Brett Pitman is available after making his loan move from Bristol City a permanent one on Thursday.

Mark Molesley, Josh Wakefield and Wes Thomas are all back in training having ended loan spells at Plymouth, Dagenham and Blackpool respectively but are not expected to feature.

The Latics' defensive problems have been eased by the recent returns of Gary Caldwell and Ivan Ramis.

And they could be set for a further boost as long-term injury victim Antolin Alcaraz is available again after recovering from a groin problem.

But Adrian Lopez (hamstring) as well as Ben Watson (broken leg), Albert Crusat (knee) and Ryo Miyaichi (ankle) remain on the sidelines.
