Togo have left Emmanuel Adebayor out of their squad for the Africa Cup of Nations warm-up match against Oman.
The Tottenham striker has said he will not play for his country again until the Togolese federation settles what he claims are unpaid bonuses.
Togo coach Didier Six said he was hopeful of persuading Adebayor to change his mind before the tournament kicks off in South Africa on 19 January.
However, Six did not include him in his 23-man party for the clash with Oman at the end of the month, although he was included on a standby list.
A statement on the Togolese federation's website read: "Emmanuel Adebayor had already announced he would not participate, and (he suffered an) injury last weekend in the Premier League."
