Sneijder agreed deal with Tottenham

December 25, 2012

Tottenham Agree Deal to Sign Inter Milan Playmaker Wesley Sneijder According to Italian Report

Speculation has been rife about Wesley Sneijder’s future at Inter Milan and having been frozen out of first team affairs for much of the current campaign it seems entirely plausible that the Dutch international is set to leave the San Siro.

For those doubting the possibility of a move to White Hart Lane one would have to recall the North London club’s coup to capture then Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart in similarly circumstances, as Tottenham beat off interest from a host of interested parties to land the Dutch playmaker.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas could well feel his squad could do with added creativity having lost the aforementioned Van der Vaart and Luka Modric over the summer and therefore chairman Daniel Levy may well be open to the mounting of a move to capture the 28 year old.

Sneijder had an excellent start to his Inter Milan career, collecting a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble in Jose Mourinho’s final season in charge of the Nerazzurri but failed to make as much of an impact in the following two lean campaigns.

Incoming boss Andrea Stramaccioni has handed Sneijder just five Serie A appearances thus far this term and watched his Inter Milan side greatly improve and currently occupy the second place spot behind runaway leaders Juventus.

A move to the Premier League may well interest the former Ajax man and the player’s wife did announce their intention to leave Milan in January before then back-tracking on the claim.
