Real Madrid are considering shock move for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic when the transfer window re-opens next month.
Boss Jose Mourinho is of the belief that the club's legend and first-choice goalkeeper Casillas severely lacks competition for his spot that has lead to some under-par performances this season.
The Portuguese tactician is now desperate to bring in another proven shot-stopper as back-up choice Adan failed to impress in his surprise appearance against Malaga.
Bernabeu staff recommended Chelsea's Courtious who is currently on loan at high-flying side Atletico Madrid. Mourinho, however, does not want to wait until summer (when his loan ends) to bring him in and turns to Stoke City star Asmir Begovic, 25.
Begovic has been superb so far this season, letting in only 13 goals and keeping the sheet clean 9 times in 18 league games.
His sensational form has also attracted interests from Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Begovic is believed to be available for £18m.
