When Lionel Messi takes to the field against Atletico Madrid on Sunday night, he will be wearing a pair of boots designed by a fan.
Javier Pascual Mullor's own take on the adidas adizero f50s will be broadcast round the world thanks to Messi's selection.
Over 14,200 people submitted entries after Messi's Facebook page encouraged them to put forward their own customisations.
The chosen boot includes a 'running white' upper, with black outsole and laces and a 'vivid red' heel, tongue and adidas 'three-stripe'.
Mullor's final design had the Messi Icon logo, Argentina flag, 'Leo 10' and 'Thiago', in an acknowledgement to his newborn son, added to it.
Messi said: 'I am happy with the miadidas boots and want to congratulate Javier on designing the winning ones that I will wear Sunday against Atlético Madrid.
'I also want to thank everyone who sent in their designs, they were all really good!'
