Verratti must change attitude or he will be hated, says former PSG boss

November 21, 2012

Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Alain Giresse believes Marco Verratti must “change his attitude” if he is to become a success at the club.

The 20-year-old moved to PSG in the summer from Pescara and has been an integral part of coach Carlo Ancelotti's side.

But whilst Giresse admits the midfielder is a gifted player, he reckons he must adopt a better approach to the game.

“It is clear that he must change his attitude,” Giresse told Le Parisien.

“He is a player I like, he has quality, but believes he has already arrived. Verratti drifts in and out of games leaving his team-mates in the s*** and if it continues, he will be hated by many people.

"He has the chance to grow amongst these big players if he stays there. I hope Ancelotti will know what to do by putting him back on the bench."

Les Parisiens are currently third in Ligue 1 after amassing 23 points from 13 games and face Dinamo Kiev in the Champions League on Wednesday.
