Udinese's Armero undergoing medical ahead of completing loan move to Napoli

Napoli are poised to sign Udinese winger Pablo Armero on loan with a view to making the deal permanent at the end of the Serie A season.

The Azzurri have confirmed the 26-year-old Colombia international will undergo a medical tomorrow before the arrangement is finalised.

A statement on sscnapoli.it read: "Napoli have reached an agreement with Udinese that will see Pablo Armero wear the blue shirt.

"The left winger will arrive on loan with the option to buy out half of his contract at the end of the season.

"Armero will undergo his medical tomorrow, after which the deal will be made formal."

Armero joined Udinese from Palmeiras in 2010 and has made 69 league appearances for the Bianconeri, scoring two goals.

Sunderland complete the signing of Alfred N'Diaye

Sunderland have completed the signing of Bursaspor midfielder Alfred N'Diaye, 22, on a three-and-a-half-year contract, for an undisclosed fee.

N'Diaye, who can also play in defence, spent three years with French club Nancy before moving to Turkey in 2011.

The France Under-21 international could feature against West Ham on Saturday, subject to international clearance.

"He is a powerful young player and can offer us more strength in depth," said Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill.

"He will give us options and I'm delighted we have been able to bring him to the club."

Sunderland are 14th in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone, and have conceded five goals in their last two league games.

Hull complete double signing

Hull have confirmed that they have sealed the double signing of David Meyler and Robbie Brady for undisclosed fees.


Meyler, 23, has been on loan at the KC Stadium from Sunderland for the past few weeks and signs a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Manchester United's Brady, 20, pens a contract of the same length following a successful loan spell.

The Republic of Ireland international has been in impressive form during his stay with the Tigers, with the left wing-back scoring once in 12 games.

Sevilla defender Antonio Luna to join Mallorca on loan

Sevilla defender Antonio Luna is to join Mallorca on loan for the rest of the season, the island club have announced.


The 21-year-old left-back passed a medical on Tuesday and will be presented to the media on Thursday.

A statement on Mallorca's official website read: "Antonio Luna has successfully passed his medical examination and will become the team's first signing of the winter."

Al-Ahly sign Quaresma on free transfer

Dubai-based Al-Ahly have signed former Barcelona and Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma on a free transfer.


Quaresma, a free agent since being released by Beskitas last month, has joined the club on an 18-month deal, chairman Abdulla Al Naboodah confirmed via Twitter on Monday evening.

Ahly director of football Roy Aitken, who previously confirmed the club's interest in the player, said the 29-year-old Portugal international is likely to be the club's only addition during the transfer window.

"He’s the only one we’re looking at. Other players have been mentioned [but] he’s the only one we’re working on at the moment,” he told Sport360 last week.

Quaresma, who also counts Porto, Chelsea and Sporting among his former clubs, will be hoping to help Al-Ahly to a first league crown since 2009.

Celtic sign Sami Gershon on loan

Israel defender Rami Gershon will join Celtic at their Marbella training camp after agreeing a six-month loan deal, according to his agent.


The Standard Liege defender flew into Glasgow for talks on Friday and agent Dudu Dahan has claimed a transfer has been agreed, subject to work permit issues.

Dahan posted a picture of his client signing a contract at CelticPark on his company's Facebook page and said a six-month loan deal had been agreed, with the further option of a three-year contract.

Gershon spent much of last year on loan to Liege's Belgian top-tier rivals Kortrijk.

He could help fill the void left by Efe Ambrose while the Nigeria defender is on African Nations Cup duty.

Paulo Assuncao signs for Deportivo La Coruna

Deportivo de La Coruna have agreed to sign Paulo Assuncao as they bid to climb away from trouble in the Primera Liga.


The former Atletico Madrid and Porto midfielder passed a medical on Monday at the Galician club and will sign a deal to move to the Riazor.

Assuncao left Sao Paulo on 28th December, after moving back to Brazil in the summer, and joins Depor on a free transfer.

When the 32-year-old puts pen to paper on his contract, he will become Deportivo de La Coruna's second signing after Silvio Manuel Pereira joined on loan from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.

Deportivo are bolstering their squad after a poor start to the campaign saw Jose Luis Oltra sacked after the final game of 2012 left them at the foot of the table.

Domingos Paciencia took the hot-seat and chose to sign Assuncao after the pair were together as players at Porto in the 2000/01 season.

Assuncao spent four years in Spanish football after he helped them to win the Europa League twice and the UEFA Super Cup between 2008 and the end of last season.

Before playing for Los Colchoneros, the defensive star started in Brazil with Palmeiras and returned there after one season with Porto's B side.

Following two seasons with Nacional, Assuncao returned for four more years with Porto, during which time he spent on campaign on loan with AEK in Athens.

Fiorentina complete deal for Villarreal striker G. Rossi

Giuseppe Rossi has completed his move from Villarreal to Fiorentina on a contract that ties him to the Serie A club until 2016.


The two clubs struck a deal for the transfer of the Italy international on Friday night and he has now agreed personal terms and will be officially presented to the media later on Monday.

Rossi will not get the chance to play for his new club for another couple of months, however, as he is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury.

The 25-year-old suffered cruciate ligament damage in October 2011 and has had to have surgery three times in the past 18 months.

He is expected to be able to return to action in March or April, and will travel back to America after his press conference with Fiorentina to continue his rehabilitation.

Rossi started his professional career with Manchester United and also had loan spells with Newcastle United and Parma before joining Villarreal in 2007.

Villarreal may now be contending in the second tier of Spanish football but Rossi has fond memories of the east coast outfit's European campaigns, most notably a run to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the 2008-09 season.

The America-born striker, who has not played since suffering a knee ligament injury in October 2011, said: "I would have made this choice if they'd approached me in the summer.

"I'm very happy to be here at Fiorentina, it's a great club, and the only one who approached me with hard facts rather than just chit-chat.

"I hope to recover as soon as possible so I can start playing in front of the Florence public. The reception they gave me was fantastic and I will remember it forever.

"The team and the club has improved a lot and they play the same kind of football Villarreal were playing five or six years ago - the best there was in Spain."

Rossi is expected to make his long-awaited return to action in March, having undergone surgery on his damaged ligaments three times in less than 18 months.

"This is a new project and I'm happy to play a part in it," he added. "They've given me an opportunity to play top-level football again and we are fighting for big prizes like Champions League qualification.

"The most important thing is to stay grounded, we have a good team and are in fourth place, so we can definitely compete for a European place. It's a long championship but anything can happen."

Viola director of sport Daniele Prade confirmed Rossi has a rescission clause inserted in his contract should things not work out at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

He said: "He's signed a four-year deal with the option of another four years.

"But he has a 35million euro (£28million) rescission clause for the first two years and that will be reduced to 30million (£24million) for the final two."

Wolfsburg sign Perisic from Dortmund

Wolfsburg have confirmed they have secured the services of Ivan Perisic from Borussia Dortmund for a fee believed to be in the region of €7.5 million.

The 23-year-old has signed a contract until June 2017 with his new club and could well be the perfect addition with Wolfe keen to add depth to their attack. 

"We are very pleased that we have signed Ivan Perisic. After the capture of [head coach] Dieter Hecking, this is yet another important move for VfL," said sporting director Klaus Allofs to the official Wolfsburg website. 

"We will have even more attacking options with Ivan. He fits in perfectly here and in the coach's philosophy." 

Perisic had joined Dortmund from Club Brugge in the summer of 2011, but failed to secure regular first team action at BVB, and will now be looking to relaunch his career at Wolfsburg. 

"I am very pleased that we have found an agreement and I'm proud to have joined Wolfsburg. I will give my all for the club and hope that we can be successful together," he added. 

The Croatia international will wear the No.9 jersey at his new club, and has already joined his new team-mates at their training camp in Belek, Turkey.

Arsenal's Djourou loaned out to Hannover

Arsenal and Switzerland defender Johan Djourou has agreed to join Hannover 96 on loan for the remainder of the season. 

The 25-year-old has featured 144 times for the Gunners in all competitions since making his first-team debut in a 2-1 League Cup win over Manchester City in October 2004. 

On Arsenal's official website, it said: "Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Johan well for his time in Germany." 

In his only two senior appearances in the current campaign, Djourou has captained Arsenal to Capital One Cup victories over Coventry City and Reading. 

Hannover general manager Jord Schmadtke revealed on Friday that the centre-back was so determined to find regular playing time that he was not at all concerned over the precise terms of the contract. 

Djourou's move to Germany is dependent on the formality of the necessary paperwork being completed as he has already passed a medical. 

"Johan Djourou is an internationally-experienced footballer who we are convinced will be able to help us out quickly," said Schmadtke. 

"He fits the bill perfectly for what we were looking for because he is also eligible to play for us in the Europa League." 

Coach Mirko Slomka has welcomed Djourou, saying: "After losing Felipe and Leon Andreasen to injury, we needed to act defensively. 

"With his physical robustness, his tactical understanding and his high level of commitment, I am convinced we will profit from having him." 

Hannover are currently 11th in the Bundesliga.
