Bastian Schweinsteiger has criticised Franck Ribery following the France international's dismissal in Bayern Munich's 2-0 DFB Pokal win over Augsburg on Tuesday evening.
The winger received his marching orders after slapping Ja-Cheol Koo in the face shortly after the break, and Schweinsteiger feels that his team-mate should have controlled his temper better.
"Obviously, Franck Ribéry shouldn't be picking up a red card. He has to control himself, although it's not easy," Schweinsteiger was quoted as saying on the Bayern website.
The Germany international then went on to voice his satisfaction with Bayern's performance after Ribery's exit, while praising Augsburg in the process.
He added: "I had the feeling we kept it tighter with 10 men and created good chances on the break.
"I hope Augsburg stay in the Bundesliga, because they have a team worthy of 10th place or so. I'm puzzled as to why they're down at the bottom."
Bayern resume Bundesliga action against Greuther Furth after the winter break.
