Roberto Mancini believes Manchester City's versatility in attack will be crucial as his side attempts to recover Manchester United's seven-point gap at the top of the Premier League table.
Edin Dzeko received a rare start for City when he lined up alongside Sergio Aguero in the 4-3 win over Norwich on Saturday and the Bosnian repaid Mancini's faith with a quick-fire brace.
The move relegated Carlos Tevez to the bench, allowing Mancini to maintain a fresh squad for the busy New Year period.
City's boss says he has welcomed the selection headaches up front, with each of his attacking combinations proving potent this season.
"We changed against Norwich because we played three games in six days and needed to have fresh players," he said. "But we are sure that all of our strikers can start to score like they did here.
"We have won games with Carlos and Aguero, Edin and Carlos, Aguero and Edin; all these three players, if they work hard like this, they can score important goals for the season."
Mancini insists he is not focused on the club's league position at the moment, using City's come-from-behind title win last season as motivation.
The champions have become renowned for scoring late goals, with Dzeko rescuing three points on a number of occasions this season, but the 26-year-old was pleased to temporarily shake the tag of being a super-sub.
"It is not the first time, but the manager gave me the chance to play and I think I paid him back," Dzeko said. "We will see what the future brings."
