Manchester CIty plan audacious move for PSG superstar Ibrahimovic

December 06, 2012

Danish source Tipsbladet claim that Man City boss Roberto Mancini will attempt to lure Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Etihad Stadium.

Such a move would appear to be a tough one to pull off given that the 31 year old only arrived at the Parc des Princes in the summer and appears to be very much enjoying life in the French capital.

Though PSG have suffered a run of poor domestic form Carlo Ancelotti’s side have made it easily through their Champions League group and into the knockout stages of the competition, which is more than can be said to Man City.

One would imagine any potential move would have to take place next summer but even then would presumably only be a possibility if Ancelotti was fired and left the French club vulnerable to such an approach.

Though Roberto Mancini has a quartet of high-profile forwards to pick from; Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko, the Italian is repeatedly linked with possible additions to his strike-force, which usually makes little sense but in the case of Ibrahimovic one can understand why the former Inter Milan boss would be keen on reuniting with his former charge.

Ibrahimovic has been in excellent for club and country this year and has netted 13 goals in 12 Ligue 1 fixtures to make him the top scorer in the French top tier this season.
