Lavezzi hoping for 'great things' at PSG

December 01, 2012

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is confident he is over his early season injury woes and says his two goals against Dynamo Kiev may well be the "beginning of great things".

The Argentina international joined the club from Napoli in July but has endured a stuttering start to life in France as a result of several knocks.

But, after finding the back of the net twice in les Parisiens' last Champions League encounter, the 27-year-old is confident his best form is not far away.

"Injuries are things that can happen in our job. Personally I have never experienced a start to a season like this one, but we must deal with it," he told Le Parisien.

"Fortunately, the game against Kiev and the two goals I scored gave me confidence. I hope this is the beginning of great things."

Lavezzi then went on to stress the cultural differences between life in Italy and France, while outlining the difficulty of the challenge ahead if PSG are to lift the Ligue 1 title.

"It is a very difficult championship. It is a challenge for all teams to win at all costs against PSG," he added.

"In Naples I could not leave my house. In Paris I can walk like a normal person. I am once again a person like any other, but I do not enjoy clubbing. I go to restaurants with friends, like everyone else, but nothing more."
