Andre Villas-Boas believes the return of Gareth Bale can help Tottenham cement their position in the top four over the festive period.
The Welshman has been missing for the last three weeks with a hamstring injury but is set to be back in the line-up for Saturday's clash with Stoke.
And Villas-Boas expects him to play a key part in the Christmas programme, with the Stoke clash preceding some winnable fixtures against Aston Villa, Sunderland, Reading and QPR.
"Yes, we have missed him. He is an important player for us. He can make the difference," Villas-Boas said.
"You saw what he did against Liverpool (when Bale scored and set up Aaron Lennon in a 2-1 win). He was outstanding.
"Players like him can decide a game for you and for us it is a tremendous boost to have him back, no doubt."
