UEFA president Michel Platini believes Juventus, his former club, could provide an upset in this season's Champions League.
Juve claimed the Serie A title last season without losing a game, and they are currently four points clear at the top of the table.
Their chances of success in the Champions League are more remote as they currently sit third in Group E, a point behind Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea, but Platini feels they may be capable of making a significant impact.
"Juventus are a spectacular team to watch," Platini, who won the European Cup with the Bianconeri in 1985, told Corriere dello Sport. "They have impressed me with their style of play. Juventus are favourites to win the Scudetto and they could spring a surprise in the Champions League."
Asked to compare Gianni "L'Avvocato" Agnelli, the Juve owner during his time at the club, and current president Andrea Agnelli, Platini added: "L'Advocatto is inimitable, but Andrea definitely has his own style and is positioned at the head of a super club."
