Osvaldo out of Italy's clash with France

November 13, 2012

Daniel Osvaldo has been ruled out of Italy's friendly with France on Wednesday due to injury and has left the Azzurri training base in Parma.

The Roma striker is suffering with an ankle injury he picked up during Sunday's Rome derby which failed to heal while training with the national team.

He will be a loss to Italy after a superb start to the season which has seen him net six goals in eight Serie A matches and it is expected Stephan El Shaarawy will take his place alongside Mario Balotelli.

Osvaldo has also added three goals in four World Cup qualifiers in the new campaign but will now return to Roma for treatment on the injury as he hopes to be fit to face Torino this weekend.
