Manchester City set to sell Balotelli

November 12, 2012

Mario Balotelli could be on his last legs at Manchester City with the club reportedly ready to part ways with the young striker.

Balotelli played no part in Sunday's clash with Tottenham and was used off the bench in Tuesday's Champions League game against Ajax, a sign that manager Roberto Mancini could be growing tired of the enigmatic Italian.

Mancini has reportedly been told by new sporting director Txiki Begiristain that he will have to sell players in order to raise funds for a January spending spree, and Balotelli is a player who could bring in the required funds.

Both AC Milan and Balotelli's former club Inter Milan are said to be interested in the 22-year-old and with his Euro 2012 exploits fresh in the minds of many, his £20 million price tag won't be too much of a stretch.

Balotelli has slipped to Mancini's fourth choice striker behind Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko and whilst AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani is a fan, he remains cautious.

"I have a profound love for Mario Balotelli, but many loves in life don't always end well," Galliani said.
