Gonzalo Higuaín has refused to concede the title to Barcelona, despite the fact that Real Madrid are now 11 points behind Tito Vilanova's side in the league table, after losing 1-0 to Real Betis on the weekend.
When the Argentine striker joined first arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu, in January 2007, Madrid were trailing Barcelona and Sevilla in the title race but finished the season as league champions, and he believes he and his team-mates can stage another dramatic turnaround this year.
"We are a huge number of points behind them, we are competing against great teams but I have no doubt that this team has the squad to win the title," said 'El Pipita'.
"We were in this position when I arrived but we ended up winning the league. It seems crazy, but I have no doubt we can do it. It's not in our hands, and we'll need other results to go our way, but we have the squad to keep fighting till the end and that's what we'll do."
