TEAM NEWS

Netherlands will be missing a number of players for the visit of their neighbours. Maarten Stekelenburg's absence will afford Tim Krul a start in goal, while Gregory van der Wiel has not been included, leaving Ricardo van Rhijn to start at right-back.

In midfield, Wesley Sneijder and Kevin Stootman are out, meaning that Rafael van der Vaart and Nigel de Jong could start in a trio with 19-year-old Vitesse star Marco van Ginkel, who will be making his first appearance for Oranje.

Dirk Kuyt, Arjen Robben and Ibrahim Afellay will all be competing for places on the wings, but Robin van Persie's thigh injury means that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is almost guaranteed to start as a striker, though Bas Dost could make his international debut.

Meanwhile, Germany have also been hit with a host of withdrawals, allowing Joachim Low to experiment with some fringe players. Rene Adler has been called up, and can expect to play some part in goal, but Manuel Neuer remains likely to start.

At the back, Jerome Boateng, Holger Badstuber and Marcel Schmelzer are all out, so Philipp Lahm should switch to the left, with Per Mertesacker partnering Mats Hummels in the middle and Benedikt Howedes making a rare appearance on the right.

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos are ill, while Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil have knocks, allowing the Bender twins and Mario Gotze to take up the midfield positions, injuries to Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose could give Lukas Podolski a rare start in the No.9 role.
