Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi believes former club Napoli will fight for the Serie A title this season.
Napoli are currently third in the table, five points behind leaders Juventus, and Lavezzi, who ended a five-year spell with the club in the summer, feels they are genuine contenders for the Scudetto.
He told Calcio News 24: "Napoli are doing very well this season. I saw the draw with Torino and they were unlucky to concede a goal when the game was almost over. I speak to them often and they sound happy with their performances, I think they will fight for the title."
The performances of Edinson Cavani are likely to play a significant part in determining the club's success this season.
The striker scored all four of Napoli's goals in the 4-2 victory over Dnipro in the Europa League on Thursday, but coach Walter Mazzarri once again told reporters his side is not overly reliant on the Uruguayan.
Speaking at his post-game press conference, Mazzarri said: "I have a team of champions and not just Cavani. I give compliments to all my players tonight and not just 'El Matador'."
