Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is battling it out with Real Madrid for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Alen Halilovic.
The 16-year-old made his first-team debut for Dinamo over the weekend against Hajduk Split and he is regarded as one of the best prospects to emerge from Croatian football in recent years.
His playing style has been likened to that of Barcelona star Messi, and reports have claimed that United and Spanish champions Real and other European top clubs have been showing an interest.
