TEAM NEWS
Tim Krul, Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor all played some part in Sunday's Tyne-Wear derby after spending time on the sidelines. Having missed recent matches, it would be no surprise to see the trio all feature again on Thursday.
Alan Pardew has confirmed that Cheikh Tiote will play, considering he is now suspended domestically for three games, following his sending off in Sunday’s derby.
Midfielder Haris Vuckic, who has played in two of Newcastle’s Europa League games this season, ruptured cruciate ligaments in his knee playing for their Under 21 side, and will not return until next season. Rob Elliot (groin), Dan Gosling and Ryan Taylor (both knee) are also long-term absentees for the Magpies.
For Club Brugge, Jesper Jorgensen featured as a sub in their 4-1 defeat at OH Leuven at the weekend, and should be fit to start at St James’ Park.
Forward Mohamed Tchite is a doubt though could play a part, and the game may also come too soon for former West Brom defender Ryan Donk. Thomas Meunier, Jim Larsen, Niki Zimling and Fredrik Stenman are all out.
