Dimitar Berbatov has emerged as a transfer target for Zenit Saint Petersburg and the Russian club is ready to open a formal talk with Manchester United over the deal as soon as possible, according to media in England.
The 31-year-old striker's future is believed to be away from Old Trafford after the club announced they have reached an agreement with Arsenal over the transfer of Robin Van Persie, who is reported to have a medical on Thursday.
Berbatov is one of three strikers expected to leave Old Trafford this summer including Kiko Macheda and £7m flop Bebe.
