AC Milan have joined their neighbours Inter Milan in the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong, 27.
De Jong, who has only one year in his contract, is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium and has been linked with a £8m-move to AC Milan's arch rivals Inter this summer but there is no clue that Massimo Morrati's club have made an official offer for the Dutchman.
AC Milan are now believed to be favourites to secure the midfielder's signature before the transfer closes in 9 days.
