Victor Valdes says Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas has his "full support" after being relegated to the substitutes' bench prior to the winter break.
The Spain international was replaced by Antonio Adan for the 3-2 defeat to Malaga, with some quarters of the media suggesting a breakdown in his relationship with coach Jose Mourinho was responsible for the move.
Those allegations have since been dismissed by both parties and Valdes, whose Barcelona side sit 16 points clear of Madrid in La Liga, offered words of sympathy to his opposite number.
"Casillas has my full support," he told reporters at a press conference.
The Catalan keeper also spoke glowingly about coach Tito Vilanova and defender Eric Abidal regarding their respective battles with health problems.
"Tito Vilanova and Eric Abidal are both role models for the team," he added.
