RIO FERDINAND is willing to turn his back on a £10m fortune and pledge his future to Manchester United instead.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has not been offered a new deal at Old Trafford.
He has been made several lucrative offers from clubs in the Middle East, MLS and China that could TREBLE his wages to a staggering £300,000 a week.
But Ferdinand will open talks with United bosses before the end of this month in the hope of signing a new deal with the Premier League leaders.
It is understood Ferdinand is even willing to accept a significant wage cut in return for being given the chance to help United win more silverware.
The club are not willing to match his current £110,000-a-week wages but Ferdinand is open to offers in the region of around £60,000 a week.
The centre-back has told his advisors that medals and not money is his main motivation as both parties get set to start negotiations.
Senior figures at the MLS are keen to recruit another global name following David Beckham’s decision to quit LA Galaxy and view Ferdinand as the perfect replacement.
He could earn in excess of £200,000 a week in America because of his profile and standing in the game.
Moves to China and Russia would also see Ferdinand cash in, although he is reluctant to uproot his family to go to either of these countries.
There has also been interest from some of the emerging clubs in the Gulf, where Ferdinand could also demand wages close to £300,000 a week.
