Deco is one of the players that knows Mourinho best, with whom he made history in Porto by winning the Champions League. The ex-Barça player talked about his former coach and about Guardiola in an interview with Portuguese television channel RTP, during which he also reminisced on his fantastic stint in Portugal.
From the midfielder's comments it seems that he does not hold very fond memories of the former 'Azulgrana' coach who, on arriving at the club, got rid of players such as Deco himself and Ronaldinho.
"Mourinho is the best coach in the world because he's won everywhere and that's very difficult. He has to win the Ballon d'Or. Guardiola was a good coach at Barcelona but I still say that he didn't invent anything. To properly judge him you would have to see him elsewhere, at other clubs".
On the current Barça line-up, Deco only sees one big difference: "This team is the same as in my time there. The only difference is Messi".
Deco finds it much harder to decide between Cristiano and ex-teammate Messi for the Ballon d'Or: "Ronaldo was the greatest in the world until June. Leo is doing incredible things now. I don't know who deserves to win. I can't decide".
