AC Milan's Berlusconi rules out Osvaldo signing

January 04, 2013

AC Milan have ended their interest in Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo, according to club president Silvio Berlusconi.

The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in 13 Serie A appearances this season, including one in the 4-2 win over Milan just before Christmas.

But Berlusconi has set his sights on younger players - such as Osvaldo's 21-year-old team-mate Mattia Destro.

"Osvaldo exceeds the age limit we have set ourselves for a young team," the Rossoneri chief told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. "We could use Destro instead."

Osvaldo, who missed the club's recent trip to the United States due to illness, has also been linked with a possible move to Juventus or Fiorentina but, when questioned on the speculation, said simply: "I do not know anything."
