It's not often a player laments the arrival of Christmas, and all the less so in Spain, but Xavi Hernández did just this when taking stock of the victory over Valladolid and the team's league performances this season.
"We've got 49 points, which is outrageous. But that means we're playing well and everything is working great, so it's a shame there's the Christmas break now. You never know whether a break is going to help or hinder you, but it's a shame because we are going so well".
Xavi also fired a warning against complacency despite the huge gap between the 'Azulgranas' and their closest challengers.
"Stranger things have happened, although we look on track for the title. We're in good shape, but there's still a long way to go".
