Diego Pablo Simeone couldn't have been any clearer in his assessment of his team's loss at the Camp Nou: "We're going game by game. Whether we're aiming to win the league or not is for you to talk about".
Despite the defeat, the Atlético manager still left with a smile on his face: "I'm leaving thinking the team is playing well. Ours is a strong team that knows how to play and tries to play to its strengths. A large part of the game was against a Barcelona side that really is something else. It's a boring league".
Simeone analysed events at the Camp Nou: "We closed off all avenues they could hit us with. Then they scored with their first shot. For their second the ball fell kindly to one of their players and then Barcelona played a possession game. We'd worked the openings but were 2-1 down".
Atlético played very well for the first half hour: "We had three good opportunities. In the second half we just couldn't put in the same shift as we did in the first. The players made a huge effort. I liked how we played. We threatened but ended up losing against a team that is playing in a different league from the rest".
Atlético's Colombian hitman managed to grab a goal: "Falcao's performance in the first half was amazing. He had three opportunities, which was great. The team couldn't support him in the second half and he found it more difficult".
