Newcastle are hopeful of agreeing a deal with Toulouse's France midfielder Moussa Sissoko next month.
The 23-year-old friend of Yohan Cabaye is out of contract in the summer and is thought to have held talks with the North East club.
Everton are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain striker Guillame Hoarau, 28, who may be loaned out.
