French weekly sports newspaper 'Le 10 Sport' has claimed that Sheikh Al Thani may have met with the Portuguese manager's agent, Jorge Mendes, on several occasions to discuss his future. It also speculates that a deal has already been made.
Rumours surrounding a move by José Mourinho from Real Madrid are growing daily. According to weekly French sports newspaper 'Le 10 Sport', the Portuguese coach may have had a secret meeting with multimillionaire PSG club owner, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, at the end of November.
However, they claim that Mourinho was not the French club's first choice in the face of the more than likely exit of Carlo Ancelotti. Pep Guardiola was the owner and club supporters' favourite, with Mou and Arsène Wenger completing the top three options.
Al Thani, therefore, is likely to have met with each candidate, with the Real Madrid manager in the end ousting the former Barça coach as the number one candidate. The football project, the conditions of the contract and how to handle his departure from the Spanish capital will already have been negotiated and it is likely that some kind of document has already been signed.
