Mexican defender Diego Reyes signs for FC Porto

December 18, 2012

Porto have announced that they have reached an agreement with America to sign Diego Reyes for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old defender has agreed to a five-year deal with the Portuguese champions, whom he will join only at the end of the season.

According to reports in Portugal, Porto will spend a fee in the region of €7 million to sign Reyes, who was also linked with Benfica.

Reyes, who broke into America's first team in 2010, helped Mexico to win the Olympic gold in London earlier this year, and has played for his country's senior team since 2011.

The Mexican stopper took to Twitter on Monday morning to express his delight at the move, saying: "I am realising a very big dream."
