Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti has looked to quash talk that his side can be considered title contenders this season.
The Biancocelesti currently sit in fourth place in Serie A having won nine of their first 16 games.
But the 29-year-old believes it is too early to talk about winning the League title.
“Scudetto? I think it's premature to talk about that,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “But we deserve a top position in the League because we are able to compete with any team.
“Talk of winning the championship though, is too soon.”
