The Swansea City manager, former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Denmark star Michael Laudrup, has hailed Leo Messi, comparing him to all-time greats including the Barça forward's fellow Argentine Diego Maradona and Brazil legend Pelé.
"He is out of this world, a class for himself. He is already, for me, one of the top players of all time, and let's see if he will be maybe number one. He is up there with the greatest — Maradona, Pele and all those", said the former Getafe and Mallorca supremo.
Laudrup believes Messi deserves all the plaudits he gets after breaking Gerd Müller's record of 85 goals in a calendar year, set way back in 1972.
"What is so great about Messi and Barcelona is the mix they have. When you have a team that has the ball 70 or 80% of the time like Barcelona, he can rest, and then when you give him the ball he is just out of this world, scoring goals and making passes for goals", Laudrup continued.
