Ancelotti ignores speculation over his future at PSG

December 05, 2012

Paris St German manager Carlo Ancelotti is ignoring speculation over his future and is confident the club will contend for the Ligue 1 title this season despite their current blip.

Reports in France suggest the club's big-spending Qatari owners are unhappy with recent results under Ancelotti, casting doubt over whether he will remain in the hotseat.

PSG have slipped down to fourth in the table after winning just one of their last five league games, losing three of those encounters.

A host of experienced managers including Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been linked with taking over at the Paris club but Ancelotti says he is not paying attention to the rumours.

The Italian is instead focused on securing the top spot in UEFA Champions League Group A when his side host Porto on Tuesday night, having already qualified for the last 16.

"My future? I didn't read the newspapers," Ancelotti told the French press.

He added: "Our last results? I am just focused on finding a solution. I am sure I will find the right one.

"Maybe in one week, maybe in two weeks, maybe in a month. But I am convinced PSG will be competitive in Le Championnat at the end of the season.

"I am confident. We will make it, that is for sure."

He added: "Everyone at PSG is sorry because we didn't achieve a good start to the season. But Le Championnat is not over yet."

PSG lost 2-1 to Nice at the weekend and Ancelotti added: "Porto is an important match to end the group in pole position and get a better draw.

"But it's also an opportunity to forget the defeat at Nice by playing a great club with experience.

"I have a good feeling about the match."
