The 25-year-old star has been thought to be worried about his future at Old Trafford after Manchester United decided to withdraw from the negotiation over his wage demand despite Sir Alex confirming the Portuguese is still a big part of his long-term plan.
Russia's big-spender Anzhi are also reported to have interest in signing the player.
